The Alabama Crimson Tide football team has been on fire on the recruiting trail. The momentum continued on Tuesday with Malik Benson announcing his commitment to be a part of the 2023 class.

Benson is considered the No. 1 JUCO wide receiver in the 2023 class out of Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. He committed to the Tide over Oregon, Tennessee, Georgia and LSU.

Benson is the 11th prospect to join the Crimson Tide's 2023 recruiting class and is the second receiver to join the class after Cole Adams made his decision last week. Alabama's class currently sits ranked No. 19 in the nation and No. 5 in the SEC.

The JUCO prospect stands 6-foot-1 and hauled in 43 receptions for 1,229 yards and 11 touchdowns as a freshman in 2021, setting the NJCAA single season record for yards per-reception with 28.6.

He visited The Capstone in early June and was impressed with Tuscaloosa and Alabama's penchant for developing receivers for the next level.

Alabama defensive line coach Freddie Roach served as Benson's lead recruiter along with wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins who visited Benson at Hutchinson C.C. in April while scouting late 2022 signee, tight end Miles Kitselman.

TiderInsider's Rodney Orr told The Gary Harris Show on Tuesday that Benson had elite level speed and even compared him to world-class burner, Jameson Williams.

Benson is on track to graduate from community college in December and will likely enroll at the University of Alabama in January.
