The top-rated quarterback in next year's recruiting class, Arch Manning, announced his commitment to the University of Texas on Thursday, becoming the eighth commit in the Longhorns' 2023 class.

Arch, widely recognized for his relation to Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning, hails from Isidore Newman High School in Louisiana, where both his uncles and father, Cooper, played before him.

Manning's high school coach, Nelson Stewart, spoke with ESPN about his signal caller's decision saying, "I give so much credit to Steve Sarkisian and for what he's building," Nelson continued, "He certainly earned this."

Stewart explained that the former Alabama offensive coordinator made a, "relentless recruiting effort," in his pursuit of Manning.

Stewart also elaborated on the quarterback's relationship with his Longhorn position coach, A.J Milwee, saying, "I think we've talked to [Milwee] more than my wife the last two years."

Milwee, who departed from Alabama in 2020 alongside Sarkisian, is a former Crimson Tide reserve quarterback who earned his coaching chops under Terry Bowden at both North Alabama and Akron before coming to Tuscaloosa.

Manning is the just third quarterback to ever receive a perfect grade from 247Sports, joining Vince Young and Quinn Ewers who both went to Texas as well.

While circumstances in Austin have been dire as of late, winning more than nine games just once in the last 10 seasons, Sarkisian appears to be on track to truly bring the Longhorns back.
