College football's Early Signing Day for the class of 2022 kicked off on Wednesday and as always the day includes prominent prospects changing as they nail down where they will play college football.

In Alabama, one such decision affected both the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers as Mobile 4-star linebacker Robert Woodyard flipped his commitment from the Crimson Tide and ultimately signed his letter of intent for the Tigers.

Woodyard had been committed to the Crimson Tide since June 2020 but revealed his changed decision this morning at Williamson High School.

The 6-foot-1, 210 pound linebacker is considered the No. 6 overall player in the state of Alabama and the No. 11 overall linebacker in the class of 2022 according to 247Sports.

Woodyard, according to Drew DeArmond of 97.7 The Zone, reportedly had not had consistent communication with the Alabama coaching staff and had not even taken a visit to Tuscaloosa after the NCAA re-opened in-person recruiting in July

Auburn's Zac Etheridge and Jeff Schmedding served as Woodyard's primary recruiters for the Tigers.

Woodyard is currently the top rated recruit in the Auburn recruiting class featuring 17 signees to this point. The Tigers currently have the No. 12 ranked class according to 247Sports and the No. 5 class in the SEC.
