The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team concluded its regular season this past weekend by sweeping the Ole Miss Rebels at Rhoads Stadium. Alabama finished its regular season on a 10-game winning streak on its way to a 42-7 record. Alabama now turns its attention to the SEC Tournament, which it will host after the tournament was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This was one of the most fun seasons I have ever had here with one of the most resilient groups of women. I am so proud of everyone within the program; the players, coaches, administrators and fans. I am proud of everybody," said Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy. "It’s been a long 14 months but to come away 18-6 in the league and 42-7 overall, we’re just playing really well right now and I am incredibly proud of this team. Our group has put it all out there this season and we can’t wait for the postseason.”

The Crimson Tide enter this week's tournament as the No. 3 seed behind the regular season champions Florida Gators and the runners-up Arkansas Razorbacks. Alabama will take on the winner of Kentucky and Georgia in the quarterfinals on Thursday in the last time slot of the day.

The Crimson Tide recently swept the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, however Murphy's squad lost its series to Kentucky two games to one in Lexington in late March.

The tournament will be broadcast on SEC Network on Wednesday and Thursday and then on ESPN2 on Friday and Saturday. Townsquare Media will be broadcasting all the Alabama games on Praise 93.3.
