Black History Will Be Made Tomorrow At UA
We're coming to the end of Black History Month and the BFSA has plans on closing the month with something big. The inaugural Black History Scholar Bowl happens tomorrow!
Saturday, February 27th, 2021, the Black Faculty and Staff Association has partnered with the UA Division of Student Life to host the Inaugural Black History Scholar Bowl. How well do you think college students across Alabama know black history? We get a chance to find out tomorrow!
The participating schools are:
- The University of Alabama
- Alabama State University
- Stillman College
- Shelton State Community College
- Alabama A&M University
In the weeks leading up to the event, school staff members and administrators were making wagers, talking trash, and calling each other out over this event! It was so much fun to watch and definitely created more excitement for the Scholar Bowl. Don't be surprised if you catch a Shelton State shirt being worn by a University of Alabama staff member after this event. I won't give away all of the wagers that were made, but that was possibly discussed. Lol.
The goal of the scholar bowl is to test each team's knowledge of African American history in various categories. I can't wait to see these categories, and the fierce competition play out when the games begin.
The Black History Scholar Bowl will begin at 11a and will be streamed on the University of Alabama's Black Faculty & Staff Association's Facebook page. I can't wait to see who takes home the trophy!
