Investigator Dornell Cousette Memorial Ride Set In Tuscaloosa
It's been a quick three years of me living in Tuscaloosa, and I have dozens of memories from my first year.
Hands down, one of the highlights of my first year was visiting Bryant-Denny Stadium.
I was overly amazed at how huge it was and the excitement in the air during my first home game was undeniable.
Just a few short weeks after, I found myself back inside Bryant-Denny Stadium but for a completely different reason.
I remember getting calls and texts from my co-workers about the horrible news, asking me if I knew what had just happened.

Confused, I told them all I had no idea what had happened that evening. Tragedy struck the city and someone took the like of a Tuscaloosa law enforcement Investigator Dornell Cousette.
In honor of Cousette, The University of Alabama lit up Bryant-Denny Stadium in blue lights.
Parked on the walk of fame was Cousette's police vehicle with a message board filled with kind words surrounded by flowers. In the center of the board was scripture Matthew 5:9 KJV "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
Sunday, August 21, the first Cousette Memorial Bike Ride will take place in Cottondale. The ride will be a 52-mile route on I 20/59 and Highway 11.
Kickstands up are at 11 am and registration will begin an hour before at 10 am.
The fee for riders is $25 and the passenger fee is $10. All proceeds will go to the fallen officer memorial at TPD headquarters.
For more info on the ride, you can visit the Tuscaloosa Police Department's Facebook page.
