Expect Delays Coming to US-82 With Resurfacing Plans
Monday March 20th, the Alabama Department of Transportation announced a new project coming to portions of US-82.
AL DOT has made plans to resurface a portion of McFarland Boulevard and it's expected to cause some delays.
The resurfacing will be from near Julia Tutwiler Drive to near Hargrove Road and then from Skyland Boulevard to near 12th Avenue East in Tuscaloosa, according to a press release.
The project aimed at improving mobility and safety is expected to take place in the nighttime and early morning hours beginning Sunday, March 26th, according to a statement from the Alabama Department of Transportation.
The release also says that the contractor who was awarded the $2.38 million project, S.T. Bunn Construction Company, is only allowed to close lanes between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. to resurface the portions of McFarland Boulevard.
Tuscaloosa drivers are being warned to expect possible delays and are urged to observe work-zone speed limits.
