Former Alabama Receiver Finds New Home, Will Face the Tide in Week 2
Former Alabama wide receiver Agiye Hall has taken to his social media to announce he will be joining the Texas Longhorns after a brief stint in the transfer portal. Hall entered the transfer portal in early April after being suspended from the Alabama football program.
While Alabama fans may wish to wash their hands of Hall after his dramatic freshman season at The Capstone, the Tide will have to contend with Hall as an opponent as early as this coming season.
Alabama and Texas are scheduled to play a home-and-home series in 2022 and 2023. The Crimson Tide will play in Austin in week two of the 2022 season and will host the Longhorns in the season opener in 2023.
Hall is familiar with several of the Texas coaches from their time in Tuscaloosa, Steve Sarkisian, Kyle Flood and Jeff Banks were all on the Alabama staff during Hall's recruitment.
In 2021 the Longhorns were led by then freshman receiver Xavier Worthy who caught 62 passes for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Sarkisian is expected to hand over the reigns at quarterback Quinn Ewers who transferred into Texas from Ohio State.
Hall will rejoin his teammate from Alabama in 2021 as Jahleel Billingsley transferred to Texas shortly after the season ended. Additionally he will join former Crimson Tide player Keilan Robinson as the trio will try to improve the Longhorn's 2021 5-7 record.
