Since head coach Patrick Murphy's inaugural season in 1999, Alabama has qualified for the NCAA Tournament every year, building one of the nation's most consistent softball programs. The Crimson Tide has hosted a Regional 21 times, including every season from 2005 to 2025 (with the exception of the canceled 2020 tournament).

Alabama holds a dominant 71-12 (.855) record in NCAA Regional play and has advanced to the Super Regional round in 18 of 19 opportunities since the format was introduced in 2005.

With their streak of hosting NCAA Regionals for 20 straight seasons, they will welcome Virginia Tech, Belmont, and Jackson State to Rhoads Stadium this weekend.

Regional play begins Friday, May 16, with Belmont (40-14) taking on Virginia Tech (41-11) at 2:30 p.m. CT. Alabama (37-21) will then face Jackson State (29-23) at 5 p.m. CT. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
