Mental health is a topic that's heavily discussed these days but many may questions if there is any action behind the talk.

According to Nami, In February 2021, 43% of adults in Alabama reported symptoms of anxiety or depression. Nami also reports that 1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year. In Alabama, 214,000 adults have a serious mental illness.

Many feel that mental health among men is a topic that's rarely discussed or taken seriously.

This week on The Big Dawg DreDay Show in The Morning With Comedian LP, a question concerning mental health among men was raised.

LP asked the question, "Do you think men feel safe to express their emotions in today’s world?"

Listeners had the chat feature of the 105.1 The Block app on fire with their responses!

Ashley Michelle said "Men’s mental health usually start with what kind of childhood they have. A man might eventually be called sassy by a female cause he either lacked a father or father figure that could’ve taught them emotional intelligence. Instead, they enter into a relationship with this 'hard persona' and 'tough mentality' …. Then eventually “tendernism” set in . They become verbally physical or mentally abusive … sassy."
KeKi Lawson wrote, "A man mental is very important We need to make it normal to check on men because they go thru things as well life be lifeing for men because we expect men to be the strong one, but I want a man to show me their soft side and let them know it’s ok to not be strong all the time, because I can’t expect that man to be his full potential self if he fighting something that I don’t know about. Women let’s take out the time and ask that man is he ok, how is his day going and allow him to vent without judging, we are women and we go through a lot but men hold in a lot and they do have a breaking point."
How do you feel about men's mental health these days?
