Okay, if you’re still here, that means you really want to know something. So, here it is:

Ladies, we know you love getting your nails and hair done.  Many spend hundreds of dollars each month on self-maintenance. In recent years, that care has included… Uhhh…. Her down there.

What’s this about?  The yoni steam!

And where can you get it done in Tuscaloosa? Pink Pearl Steams, located inside The Glam Room at 1425 22nd Avenue.

According to Healthline, “vaginal steaming is an age-old natural remedy said to cleanse the vagina and uterus, regulate menstruation, and ease period cramps and bloating.”

Common herbs used include mugwort, wormwood, chamomile, calendula, basil, and oregano.

One of these or a combination of multiple is placed into a basin of hot water. Then, the woman opens herself directly over the basin, using a covering that not only protects her from personal exposure, but it also retains the steam.

So, what's it like receiving a steam?

Well, you enter The Glam Room (where everyone is masked and practicing social distancing, by the way) and you're led to a suite where the steams are done. Now, it's easier if you wear a dress for the occasion; but it's not mandatory.  There is another adjacent room where you may slip off your pants and put on the steaming dress in privacy.

When you sit on the steaming seat, there's an overwhelming heated sensation. It feels like the most relaxing bath you've ever had without being naked.

The facilitator, owner Melanie Rice, was personable and quite informative. She discussed the benefits of each of the five different steams. By the time our session was over (it was a girls morning out), we all walked out with a "drip yoni bar" soap in hand.

So, if you're looking for a way to relax, relate, and release, visit the Pink Pearl Steam!
