Quarantine Vacation Destinations: Jekyll Island

It's safe to say that quarantine has a lot of people ready to get out of the house and enjoy life. Time with family in the house has grown stale and we need something to do. Why not take a quarantine vacation?

Ok, I have to admit, I came up with quarantine vacation off the top of my head, but it sounds really cool. A Quarantine Vacation allows you to get away with loved ones, while still being quarantined. It could be a cabin trip, a horseback riding adventure, camping, or even your own private island!

This week's Quarantine Vacation Destination is Jekyll Island In Georgia. Yes, Georgia has an island! I first heard of Jekyll Island in college but had no idea it was in Georgia until this week! This destination is great to visit year-round with the family. It seems impossible to visit Jekyll Island and not find something to do. You could relax on one of their beautiful beaches, or indulge in one of their many activities. Miniature golf, horseback riding, free arts festival, and the food looks great too! They have a Shrimp & Grits festival that has been awarded the title of "Best Festival In the Southeast" two times! Who doesn't love shrimp and grits?!

The island even has a massive amount of historic value as well. In the late 1800s, Jekyll Island was an exclusive hunting club families with names like Rockefeller, Morgan, Vanderbilt, and more. This once exclusive island is now open to the public and ready for you to enjoy!

Jekyll Island is located off the coast of Georgia and is one of the Golden Isles of Georgia Barrier. If you'd like to take a trip to Jekyll Island, click here to check out their website for more information.
