Stillman's Trey Petty Named NAIA Player Of The Week
The Stillman College Men's Basketball team is off to a hot start. They can now add having the NAIA Player Of The Week to their accolades.
A huge congratulations goes out to Stillman senior guard Trey Petty for being named the NAIA Player of The Week. The season has just started but Petty and the Tigers are already off to a hot start.
According to an official press release, Trey Petty was named the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Player of the Week on Jan. 11, was also named the Black College Sports Network Small Schools Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Jan. 12, an award presented to student-athletes from Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Last week in the Tigers' season opener, Trey Petty scored a career-high 38 points to go along with 14 rebounds and 12 assists for his first Stillman triple-double and the fifth in the NAIA this season. With just four games in the books so far this season, the Stillman Tigers are undefeated not only in the conference but overall with a 4-0 record.
It seems like 2021 is a great year for not just football in Alabama, but basketball too!
Stillman is scheduled will travel to Blue Mountain College this Friday and Saturday. We wish them safe travels and good luck. Let's continue this hot streak through the season so we can get that conference and national tournament title!
