Tuscaloosa Alumni of Jackson State Headed to the Celebration Bowl
The Celebration Bowl brings the excitement of the Historically Black College and Universities (HBCUs) experience to the football field. This postseason football game is between the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
The 2021 match-up will be between the Jackson State Tigers and the South Carolina Bulldogs. The game is Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The kick-Off is at Noon (EST) and will be shown on ABC. Also, you can’t miss the halftime show featuring the marching bands. It’s a whole experience.
Jackson State University has received tons of media attention and gained many new fans. Coach Deion Sanders has brought such a wonderful light to HBCU sports, lifestyle, and culture.
According to a Twitter post from Noah Newman, Coach Prime said that "Atlanta is special to me." -- Deion Sanders is excited for Jackson State to take center stage in Atlanta.”
Now the Tuscaloosa Chapter of Jackson State National Alumni Association is Celebration Bowl bound. The chapter is hosting a bus trip to the game. Freida Dale, President of the Chapter said that “the Tuscaloosa Chapter of JSU Alumni is a tight-knit family consisting of local bankers, law enforcement, educators, band directors, Football Hall of Famers, and former Sonic Boom of the South band members. In this season of living in Title Town, we are proud to boast a few titles of our own.”
They will be departing from the University Mall at 6 am (CST) and will depart the Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 8 pm (EST). The cost is $55 per person and does not include entrance to the game. If you are interested you can contact Freida Dale at 205.835.1332.
