Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox Addresses COVID-19 Concerns
Alabama was one of the last few states to announce confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States. At the time of the posting of this story (March 13th, 2020, 9:45 pm), According to the Alabama Public Health our state now has six cases in “Montgomery, Jefferson, Elmore County, Limestone County, Tuscaloosa County, and one that is "out of town.”
The City of Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox held a press conference regarding COVID-19 and addressing the Tuscaloosa having its first case of coronavirus (COVID-19) tonight Friday, March 13, 2020. Our Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa radio stations carried the press conference live on all eight of our radio stations in effort to support Mayor Walt Maddox and the City of Tuscaloosa during this time. In his address by Mayor Maddox to the City of Tuscloosa, he reminded us about responsibility. In that for "All of us to make certain that we apply common sense, that we take precautions, that we continue to plan, and we get our information from reliable sources. Because at the end of day, my job, my devotion is Mayor of Tuscaloosa, but my life and passion is my family, and I am a father, and I am a husband, and every decision that I make as Mayor, and every decision Chief Smith and command team they make not only as professionals they make as community members with family here too. We want to protect our families as we protect our cities, and that is the foundation of every decision we make."
