Tuscaloosa Police Charge Greensboro Man with Robbing 3 Motels
Police in Tuscaloosa have arrested a 26-year-old Greensboro man accused of robbing three area motels at gunpoint in recent months.
Lt. Teena Richardson, a spokeswoman for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said the department's Criminal Investigation Division gathered and reviewed evidence and identified Markece Vonta Ryans as a suspect in the robbery of three motels -- one in August and two more in December.
Richardson said officers passed the information on to the the Greensboro Police Department, who were able to Ryan take into custody at a residence in Hale County.
Ryan was brought to Tuscaloosa and charged with two counts of first-degree robbery then placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a total bond of $120,000. Richardson added that more charges against Ryan are pending.
