Heart-Warming Video: DCH Workers Surprise Co-Worker With New Car
It's always heart-warming to see that there are still genuinely good people in the world. this video proves that some of those people are right here in West Alabama.
Tuesday, May 14th, Talia Hoyle who's been working at DCH as a Phlebotomist for the past 5 years got the shock of a lifetime. Her co-workers surprised her with a fully paid-off car after her car had been destroyed in a tragic accident just weeks before.
"My bestie Brianna Arron tricked me," Talia said.
Hoyle was under the impression that they were going to get tacos since Taco Tuesday was her late boyfriend Dominique's favorite day of the week.
32-year-old Dominique L. Ellis was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry in April when he left the roadway and struck several trees. Dominique was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
During an interview with Townsquare Media, Hoyle said that Ellis was driving her car that they both shared. Since the accident, Hoyle hasn't had her own vehicle due to the car being destroyed in the accident.
Ellis was also a DCH employee. " We came to work together every day," said Hoyle.
"We clocked in together and clocked out together. We walked those halls together for 2 years straight."
Hoyle returned to work after a 3-week leave on Monday, May 13th.
Little did she know, as she went through one of the darkest moments in her life, that her co-workers at DCH would be a source of light on her journey.
"They told me they had my back and then they showed me. The car is paid in full, the tag is paid in full, and insurance is paid for 6 months. All I had to do was sign the papers," Hoyle said after being surprised with her brand-new car.
I didn't think that anybody that I worked with ever cared that much about me.," Hoyle said.
She was sure to recognize that the reason was all because of the love of her life, Dominique. "This happened because of him and the person he was. Dominique never had a bad day, no matter what he went through."
