During Read Across America week, the students at Woodland Forrest had a few very special visitors. Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox dropped by the school to read to a class for Read Across America week.
"Thursday, Mayor Maddox, Shane Spiller of Spiller Furniture, and TCS Board Member, Erica Grant joined in the fun as they read to our students. We were excited to welcome Mayor Maddox to The Forrest as he shared his love for our community and The Tuscaloosa City Schools," said Woodland Forrest Principal Teresa Croom Bivens.

Our students also enjoyed a book character parade today where they dressed up as their favorite character. The book character parade provided them with the opportunity to express themselves through their love of reading.
