The Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff is hard at work on the 2023 recruiting class and there are several prominent recruits to target as we are still early in the recruiting cycle. One thing every class needs, especially in the day and age of the transfer portal, is a high-caliber quarterback to galvanize and entice recruits to join in.

Alabama fans know all about the nation's No. 1 overall player, Arch Manning. However, it appears as if another Louisiana quarterback is more highly coveted by the Crimson Tide in the recent weeks, enter 4-star Eli Holstein.

The Zachary, Louisiana-native recently shared with Sam Spiegelman of On3 Sports that he has scheduled his official visit to The Capstone. Holstein will be on campus on the weekend of June 10 to take his official visit to the University of Alabama. It is the only official visit he has scheduled at this time.

Holstein recently blew out the competition at the Elite 11 QB camp in Las Vegas and even had both Bill O'Brien and Pete Golding in attendance at his high school's spring game.

To further emphasize his importance to the upcoming recruiting class all one must do is examine the other major prospects coming to Tuscaloosa in the same weekend. The Crimson Tide is bringing in 5-star offensive tackles Kadyn Proctor and Francis Mauigoa along with top linebacker prospect Anthony Hill in for visits.

While Alabama appears to be the leader in the clubhouse for Holstein he is still being heavily pursued by LSU and Oregon also.

The Crimson Tide currently boast the No. 37 overall recruiting class in 2023 but have only accepted three commitments, leaving Alabama with plenty of room and time to secure another top-five class under head coach Nick Saban.
