Despite another slow start to the SEC schedule for Alabama baseball, it managed to sweep No. 9/7 Ole Miss on the road with a 7-3 win on Sunday showing the team can play with anyone, in any environment.

The Crimson Tide moves to 7-5 in conference play with victories in five of its six conference matchups.

A solid start from sophomore left-hander Grayson Hitt set the Tide up for success as Hitt collects his third win of the season. He threw for 6.1 innings, collecting eight strikeouts, and only allowed three earned runs off of three total hits in the appearance.

Senior RHP Hunter Hoops and redshirt junior RHP Landon Green gave up a combined one hit and no runs in their 2.2 innings of relief. Green shut the door on the series by striking out two of the four batters he faced in the ninth inning.

With business being handled on the mound, the only thing left for the Tide to worry about was run support. Alabama had a 3-0 lead through five innings but took a scare in the sixth with a two-run homer bringing Ole Miss back into the fold.

Ole Miss never took a lead in the closing appearance and ended its weekend with three runs from just four hits on Sunday.

For the Tide, leadoff hitter SS Jim Jarvis went 2-for-4 in Game 3 with a drawn walk and a stolen base, his sixth stolen bag of the year through eight attempts.

Junior catcher Dominic Tamez extended his hitting streak to four games, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double on Sunday, with his second multi-hit game in the series.

Alabama's home run leader Zane Denton recorded his ninth long ball of the season during the appearance with a two-run shot to center field scoring Jim Jarvis. Denton ended Game 3 hitting 2-for-5 with three runs driven in, a home run and a double while taking over the top spot in the clubhouse for RBI (30).

Senior transfer outfielder Tommy Seidl recorded his second home run of the year with a solo shot to left field in the seventh inning, giving Alabama some insurance on the mound. After the series, Seidl now leads the club in total hits (39) and holds the team's highest on-base percentage.

Center fielder Andrew Pinckney recorded his fourth home run on the season after finishing the Sunday appearance 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double. He holds the team's second-highest batting average (.306) through Alabama's 33 games this season and leads the clubhouse in OPS (.939).

Alabama looks for its seventh straight victory in a coming midweek matchup with Belmont visiting Tuscaloosa on Tuesday, April 12. The next conference matchup for the Tide comes against No. 1 ranked Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, on Friday at 5:30 p.m. CST. The Volunteers have yet to lose an SEC game this season and are 31-1 overall in 2022.
