Boys And Girls Club Offering Scholarships For Summer Program

According to a press release sent to Townsquare Media, With funding help from the Tuscaloosa County Democratic Party, the Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama will offer a summer scholarship to 12 members in 2023.

The press release mentions how Judy Taylor and the Tuscaloosa County Democratic Party recognized the impact summer programming can have on local students and secured scholarship funding to make it possible for more youth in the West Alabama community to benefit from membership at Boys & Girls Clubs.

The organization was the beneficiary of funding raised through a community-wide Egg Hunt held at Jaycee Park on April 1, 2023. Kim Turner, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama, expressed her gratitude for the support, stating that the organization believes that every child should have access to programs that increase opportunity and provide the best chance for lifelong success.

Registration for the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama's summer program is currently open for Club sites in Tuscaloosa and Hale counties. Members will benefit from fun activities and a curriculum designed to prevent summer learning loss and prepare members for academic success in the fall.
