Boys & Girls Club Of West Alabama To Host Reunion Event
Boys & Girls Club Of West Alabama To Host Reunion Event
Growing up, I spent a lot of time at the neighborhood Boys and Girls Club. While there, I even met some lifelong friends.
One of my earliest memories of hanging with kids my age was at the Boys and Girls Club. I'll never forget how cool the staff members were and how much they cared about all of the kids. I think it's essential for any kid growing up to attend the Boys and Girls Club. The experiences they offer are unforgettable.
I remember my dad asking me if I wanted to learn how to swim. I was too excited to tell him "Yes! I want to learn how to swim." Not even a week later I was enrolled in swimming lessons at the Boys and Girls Club. I was excited not only to have lessons but they had just built the new indoor pool. I was like a kid in a candy store. Except this candy store was underwater.
The Boys and Girls Club is also where I became the best foosball player in the world! In teams or 1 on 1, I was the best in the whole building. We held a foosball tournament and they were looking at me like I wasn't going to be in much competition. I ended up beating everyone who challenged me. Those were the days!
I can only imagine how many cool stories people here in Tuscaloosa have after attended the Boys And Girls Club. The good news is that the Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama will host an Alumni Reunion. Here is your chance to catch up with people you remember from your old days at the club.
The reunion will take place on April 16th, 2021 from 4p-6p at Jaycee Park. The reunion isn't just for alumni members, friends can come as well!
As posted on their event page, the BGCWA invites past members to come to spend a little time enjoying food, connecting with other former Club members, and taking a tour of our current facilities! We are excited to welcome you back as part of our 60th Anniversary year for this fun, free event.
