Community Service Opportunity For Stillman College Students

I remember being in college and needing a lot of community service hours. I also learned how important community service is during my college career. Stillman College students have a chance to learn that importance this Saturday.

A few weeks ago, I heard about a new organization in Tuscaloosa called The House Tuscaloosa. I absolutely love what they're about. According to their site, The House Tuscaloosa exists to promote and develop literacy in The West End Community in three areas: Educational, Musical & Spiritual. We also operate a used bookstore to provide books at a reduced price for the community and funding for the organization.

The House Tuscaloosa is hosting Stillman Day Saturday, October 17th, 2020 10a-Noon. This is a day for Stillman students to gain community service hours as they paint, organize books, and do some yard work. The organization is currently housed at The Presidents House at Stillman College, they work to engage Stillman students in efforts to build relationships so that students can volunteer & connect with the community.

I love what this organization is doing, and I hope to see many Stillman students this Saturday. I'll definitely be there to help out!

If you're a Stillman student and need more information on this community service opportunity, or you're not a student and want to know how you can get involved, send an email to diva@thehousetuscaloosa.org.
