Stillman College is expanding opportunities for students through a new partnership with Bishop State Community College that creates a smoother path toward earning a four year degree.

According to Stillman College, the two schools recently signed an articulation agreement that will allow eligible associate level credits from Bishop State to transfer directly toward a bachelor’s degree at Stillman College.

The agreement is designed to remove barriers for students looking to continue their education while creating what school leaders described as a more seamless transfer process.

Stillman College President Yolanda W. Page, thanked Bishop State President Olivier Charles for the partnership and shared commitment to student success.

“Agreements like this reflect what is possible when institutions align around a common purpose: meeting students where they are and walking with them to where they aspire to be,” Page said.

The partnership comes as Stillman College continues celebrating its 150th anniversary while also pushing forward with its ASCEND 2030 strategic plan. Expanding access to higher education remains one of the key goals of that initiative.

The agreement could create new opportunities for students across Alabama, especially those looking for a more affordable and flexible route to a four year degree before transferring to a university setting.

Stillman leaders also welcomed future Bishop State students to what they called “The Stillman Way.”
