Vintage With Purpose Just Thrift It Builds Culture
In a world where fashion trends move fast, one Tuscaloosa brand is taking a different approach by slowing things down and bringing meaning back to what people wear.
For Edzavier, founder of Just Thrift It Vintage, this is bigger than clothing. It is about culture, history, and identity.
“Since 2016, I have been building more than a collection. I have been curating history,” he said.
What started as selling vintage pieces quickly turned into something more personal. Customers began reaching out not just to shop, but for styling and guidance on pieces that truly represent them.
He noticed the rise in popularity of vintage NASCAR tees, sports gear, and band merch, but felt something was missing.

“Our culture deserves that same spotlight,” he said.
Growing up around events like the Magic City Classic and Turkey Day Classic helped shape that vision. Being around HBCU culture and Greek life showed him how powerful fashion can be when it is tied to legacy.
Now, his brand focuses on HBCU culture, Black history, and statement pieces that carry meaning.
“This is not a trend. This is history you can wear,” he said.
Each item is intentionally sourced, whether it comes from thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets, or private collections. For Edzavier, it is about having the eye and doing the work to find pieces that stand out.
“It is really about digging and knowing what is rare and meaningful,” he said.
That passion is now showing up in real time as Just Thrift It Vintage continues to grow its presence through pop ups and community events. One of the next opportunities to shop the brand in person will be at an upcoming pop up with Alabama Vintage, where shoppers can expect a curated selection of standout pieces rooted in culture and individuality.
For those who cannot make it in person, the brand still keeps things direct and personal online.
You can shop through Instagram at @justthriftitvtg by sending a direct message, and by staying tapped in for new drops, pop ups, and story sales.
For Edzavier, every piece tells a story and every outfit is a chance to wear something that actually means something.
